How do I learn English fast? It’s not rocket science.
It’s really simple. You need to do more than study English; you need to actually speak it. I know, I know, you’ve probably heard this before, but here’s the thing… you’ll never get anywhere in life if you only learn about things.
The only way to really learn anything is to practice. It doesn’t matter how good you are, you’re never going to get very far until you start speaking.
STEP 1: Pick Up a Good Book
When you first start studying English, you’ll likely want to pick up a good book. I recommend The Practice of English as a Second Language by John Wren. It’s one of the best books I’ve read on learning English, and it’s also one of the most fun to read.
STEP 2: Start Practicing Conversations with Friends and Family
Now that you’ve got a good book, it’s time to start talking to real people. The best way to practice your English is to talk with native speakers. Find people who are willing to spend some time teaching you.
These conversations don’t need to be long. They can be short, simple, and even one-sided. But they need to be frequent.
STEP 3: Get a Private Tutor
If you can’t find a tutor, you can always ask for help from your local library. Libraries often host ESL programs where they’ll teach you in a group setting.
Another option is to find a private tutor. For a reasonable fee, these teachers can help you learn English much faster than you could on your own.
